Molly Davis ’15 Senior Profile: French & Francophone Studies

davis_mollyI am so thankful that I am a French major at the College of William & Mary.  French language has been a part of my life since I was young.  I fell in love with the language then and could never imagine not sticking with it after that!
The Modern Languages department has supported me every step of the way throughout my college career.  I was advised to study abroad through the IFE program in Paris, France, which was such a rewarding experience.  Merci en particulier to my advisor Maryse Fauvel and professor Guilia Pacini for helping me with the application process and pushing me to do IFE.  Interning at Le Musée En Herbe, a children’s art museum in Paris, gave me so much confidence in my language skills.  It was so rewarding to be given the responsibilities of leading tours and teaching children about modern art in a foreign country.  I realized while studying abroad that teaching is my passion and what I want to do!  This has lead to my teaching licensure at the School of Education where I am certified to teach high school French.  Thank you also, Magali for supporting me along the way this past semester.  I am so grateful to have taken 2 of your classes, which are always filled with great people and spark up such passionate and interesting discussions.
Je remercie encore le département de languages modernes et tous mes professeurs de ces 4 années.  (Thank you again to the Modern Languages and Literatures Department and all my professors I have had these past 4 years.)
