I really enjoyed my time with the French department. I didn’t come into college expecting to be a French major, but early on my freshman year I found that my most rewarding classes were where I was able to speak French and learn about other cultures. Through my time in these classes and abroad in Montpellier my mind has been opened, and I’ve become much more critical and thoughtful about institutions, stereotypes, and assumptions about people who are different from me. This coming year I am excited to intern this summer at iStrategyLabs, a digital agency, and move to Caen, France as an English teaching assistant this fall. I will take the wisdom and critical thinking skills I’ve gained from this program into my next steps – as well as my absolute love for the French language.
